Report an Issue or Concern
The strength of our union is built on accountability, transparency, and the active voice of our membership.
If you believe there has been a violation of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Constitution and Bylaws, or any issue affecting your wages, hours, or working conditions, you have the right to report it. This process ensures that all concerns are reviewed fairly, documented properly, and addressed in accordance with union procedures.
When Should You Submit an Issue?
You should submit a report if you experience or observe:
-
Violations of the Collective Bargaining Agreement
-
Unsafe or unfair working conditions
-
Improper management actions or discipline
-
Contract interpretation concerns
-
Violations of the Constitution and Bylaws
-
Any issue impacting member rights or representation
If you are unsure, submit the issue anyway. It is better to review than to overlook.
Timeliness Matters
Under the grievance procedure, issues must be raised within specific timeframes. In most cases, a grievance must be initiated within 14 days of when you became aware of the issue.
Do not delay. Reporting promptly protects your rights.
What Happens After You Submit?
Once your issue is received:
-
It will be reviewed by a union representative or steward
-
You may be contacted for additional details
-
The issue will be evaluated under the appropriate process (grievance procedure, internal review, or other action)
-
You will be informed of next steps
All reports are handled with professionalism and discretion.
